She has contacted several CPA firms in Georgetown, and will also look in Pawleys in order to obtain at least three quotes for a new firm. The Finance Committee will review proposals once obtained to make a recommendation the Board moving forward. It could be June before we see financials for the HOA.

May 13th will be the community yard sale. We are looking into revamping the website. We are researching a better sign for out front.

Working on a meet and greet at the pub. July 4th Golf Cart Parade. Our first Wragg for “23” went out by email saving us almost $1500. Our goal is to collect s many emails as possible in the future. Welcome Committee– No report.

Drainage- Joe Myers reports, We have not had any drainage problems to the committees knowledge this month. There are several under driveway pipes with impeded flow but not HOA concern yet.

There is a potential problem at junction of Retreat Lane backyards and Eagle Corp driving range. The expanded and raised driving range is impeding storm water drainage and Flow. Jonathan Rutstein and Joe have met with Eagle Corp’s Christian on site. We understand the Eagle Corp will have a Landscape/Earth moving expert to evaluate the situation and offer any solutions in early May, 2023.

Storm water needs to be directed away from all concerned properties.

Water Amenities– Joe Myers reports, The Hydgraphical Survey was completed April 15, 2023. A/E firm Earthworks’ PE’s are analyzing the collected data to establish the cubic yardage of sediment needed to be removed via dredging to achieve the minimum depths at mean low tide of 8 feet in the main canals and 6 feet in finger canals.

Spoil site repairs are 60% complete. The tops of the dike walls will be the A/E firm Earthworks’ PE’s recommended 12 feet above the spoil site basin bottom. The volunteer Chinese Yallow trees have been removed and burned today.

A/E firm Earthworks’ PE’s continue to coordinate the engineering processing of data for the Government Permit Applications for Wedgefield Plantation supplying whatever info the data requested.

A/E firm Earthworks’ PE’s will prepare the Request for Proposal to be sent to selected Dredging Companies for Bids to perform the needed dredging. The PE’s will conduct a pre-bid meeting to ensure all firms understand the Scope involved, receive all bids, and with Water Amenities members present open the Bids, plus evaluating and deciding which Firms to recommend to the HOA Board for Approval and funding.

An excellent website for Dredging Info is Dredge America in Kansas City.

Compliance– Stan Earnhart reports, It was agreed at the last meeting after speaking to the residents who were in noncompliance to waive the fine issued if there was progress in repairing their pool enclosure. Then they were referred to ARC concerning turning it into a greenhouse.

In the Board Policy, the term trailers id defined as House Trailers. House trailers are placed on a lot and are not easy to move off and return to a lot. Moving a house requires using a commercial tractor. Also, house trailer uses metered electrical, water and sewer connections, which also contribute to the difficulty in moving a house trailer. In addition, house trailers usually have an address. RV’s whether a camper, trailer, van or motor RV are not house trailers.

Capital Improvement– We have met with an engineer/designer, pool builder, and tennis court builder. It has been recommended that a survey of the parcel 5A be completed and that the committee make preliminary design plans for an amenity center. We have received two estimates to survey lot 5A. Tidewater Land Surveying $2500.00 with a 30 day delay to start. Parker Land Surveying $1850.00 with a 60 day delay to start. Stan makes a motion to approve Parker Land Surveying’s estimate of $1850 with funds coming from the Capital Improvement budget as the first step in building our own amenities.

Motion seconded by Jonathan Rutstein. All in favor. Motion carried.

Old Business- We have started to put action items of what we discussed at last meeting.

We are a 501 C- Corp. We did file an extension for our tax return last year and we didn’t have to pay taxes on interest. We may have to pay on interest this year.
