WPA SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES January 9th, 2025
Call to Order – Marilyn Weitz, President at 7:02pm
Attendance – Marilyn Weitz, Russ Cocain, Jonathan Rutstein, Stan Earnhart, Adam Hall.
Absent– Bryan Lawrimore, Joe Myers, Mike Downes, Blaine Beadle.

Drainage Report: Adam Hall-
- Four environmental engineering students from Clemson University will be performing a site assessment next Friday with a proposal by end of month, presentation to the board in March with final plans in April. This project will save the plantation tens of thousands of dollars in engineering, survey and modelling costs. The students are supervised by a PHD and this is a graduate level project. Their initial focus will be on the condo flooding, canals and other drainage trouble spots.
New Business–
- New Committees: Jennifer Lawrimore requests to modify Grounds committee responsibilities and divide them into two committees: Landscape and PPE (plants, property, equipment). Purpose is to clarify responsibilities and clean up budget. Policy to be set for new committees, vote to be held at future meeting. Jonathan Rutstein motions to create two new committees, all in favor, motion passes.
- First reading on new Policy regarding option of paying assessments online with new WPA website and credit card processing fees to be paid by members using that option. 3% credit card processing fee is industry standard on all credit card payments. Checks will remain at no charge. Second reading planned for January 21st WPA meeting. Stan Earnhart motions to accept, Jonathan Rutstein seconds. Discussion, no change to Spectrum payments, the processing fees are included in the flat $80 monthly price. All in favor, motion to accept first reading passes.
