OPEN BOARD MEETING MARCH 9, 2018

Absent – Keith Johnson, Adam Anderson
On March 9, 2018, President Walton called an Open Meeting for the purpose of filling the vacant position of Office Clerk. The agenda was amended to include information about the Gate House repairs.
After discussion, a motion was made by Larry Mt.Millin to hire Michelle Blythe as the new Office Clerk. This was seconded by Butch Williams, and passed by unanimous vote. She was hired a’l a starting wage of $12 per hour for a probationary period, not exceed 31 hours per week unless approved by the Board.
There was information presented about findings from our Insurance Carrier concerning the repairs to the entrance Gate House. Upon recommendation of the insurance Adjuster, a mcftion was made by Larry McMillin to hire Seaspray Homes, LLC, of P;·iwleys Island to do all aspects of the project. This was seconded by Butch Williams and passed by unanimous vote. Also, a motion was n,ade by Larry McMillin to pay the $500 from the Emergency Reserve bar.k to the insurance carrier. This was seconded by Bob Garrison and passed unanimously.
Meeting adjourned at 7:30 pm.
Since that meeting, it has been explained that the Insurance Carrier reduces the check written for the repairs by our deductible amount of
$500. The WPA is expected to pay this deductib!e amount to the Contractor to make up the balance upon completion. Therefore, a recommendation by Larry McMillin is being made to amend the motion to comply with insurance requirements.
