WPA Special Meeting Minutes

Call to Order: Marilyn Weitz, President @7:00PM.
In Attendance: Marilyn Weitz, Russ Cocain, Jonathan Rutstein, Stan Earnhart, Adam Hall, Joe Myers, Bryan Lawrimore, Michael Downs, Blaine Beadle.
Absent: None.
Quorum: Yes.
Minutes: None.
JR point of order re- BB, motion to allow hearing at executive session on August 19th 2025. Seconded, discussion, all in favor, motion carries.
Drainage– AH reports bids to repair sinkhole on Wraggs Ferry.
- Lowcountry- $16,500, includes drainage improvements to area.
- Green Wave- $7,500, just sinkhole repair.
- AH Moves to accept Lowcountry Bid, SE seconds, discussion, all in favor.
Meeting moves to Executive Session for 1 hour 15 minutes (approx).
JR motions to approve Brunswick Dredging Contract, JM seconds, no discussion, Roll call vote:
(YES: JM, AH, JR, BB, MD, BL) (NO: SE, MW, RC) 6 vs 3, motion carries.
JR motions WPA contribution is not to exceed $239,040.00 JM seconds. No Discussion. Roll call vote: (YES: JM, AH, JR, SE, BB, MD, BL) (NO: MW, RC) 7 vs 2, motion carries.
JR motions for payment to Earthworks for project management not to exceed $25,500.00, seconded, roll call vote: (YES: JM, AH, JR, SE, BB, BL, MD) (NO: MW, RC) 7 vs 2, motion carries.
JR motions to form a committee on dredging and drainage, MD seconds, no discussion, all in favor.
JR motions to form canal owners regime, MD seconds, no discussion, all in favor.
JR motions to commission study to investigate WVA roads and drainage, MW seconds, discussion, all in favor.
