Shred Alert came to the office a week later than scheduled. The company apologized for not informing us of the change and said he would make it up to us. He charged the WPA $150 for shredding approx. 250 lbs. This was discount of approx. $100. The Event Budget was charged with $150 and the balance stands at $868.
The office is in need of extra storage for supplies. Kim and I have been researching cabinets for inside use. The one we selected is Sandusky Lee RTA7000-05. It sells on Amazon for $150 with free shipping. The budget #61500 (office furniture) stands at $200, which will leave a balance of $50.
The corrections and additions for the 2016 directory will be sent to the publisher at the end of this month as requested by them.
The Georgetown Presbyterian Church has been secured for the November 19th Annual Meeting as our policy countdown begins the election process.

Drainage: Al DeMarchi reported the three sinkholes have been repaired. The project near the pond has been delayed due to weather.
Bob Garrison asked about the budget on the drainage projects. Al DeMarchi stated all the projects have been under budget. In last month’s report, he was approved for $3,000 on Governor Johnston and it cost $1,800. The project on Ricefield was approved for $9,500 and it cost $6,470.
Water Amenities: John Walton reported the committee has begun looking into doing a maintenance dredge on the canal. We met with Army Core of Engineering on May 10 to confirm that our permits are still valid and have reached out to several dredging contractors for estimates. We plan to have a meeting with the canal lot owners soon to discuss the dredging and what will be required from them in order to make this happen. We want this process to be open and to keep everyone informed of what is going on. We hope to have more to report next month.
John stated that people are using the landing without stickers. One resident was informed about needing stickers on vehicle and boat trailer. One resident is allowing an underage driver to put in at the landing, if residents see this call the sheriff department, nothing WPA can do. John Walton reported he will be looking into having a tow company available to tow vehicles if they are not abiding by the rules of the landing.
Roads – Adam Anderson reported the road project is completely finished and all invoices are paid. The plan for the immediate future is to deal with any new potholes with cold patch until we can replenish our road repair fund for a new round of work. Overall, our roads are in good shape now with all of the major areas repaired. Any reports of damage to the road, we will try to cold patch them.
The stop sign at the intersection of Wedgefield Road and Duck Pond has been repaired. All of our signage in the plantation is aging badly and needs to be replaced. I am working on a plan to replace them.

Grounds: Larry McMillin reported grounds going through a learning process this year with the flowers planted around the entrance. The irrigation system has needed some tuning to get it right. We lost some flowers to overwatering, which is just as harmful as not enough water. We are hopeful we have achieved a good balance for the rest of this season, without so much maintenance necessary. By the way, whoever dug up two of the nicest flowers, I hope you get your reward.
It is time, once again, to refurbish the pine straw throughout the plantation. In past years, we averaged 185 bales used per season. To accommodate, I make a motion we appropriate up to $1200 for materials and delivery. The labor to install the pine straw is included in the maintenance contract. 2nd by Janine Cline, Passed with 9 ayes.
Larry thanked Lu Turner, who came out several times to help with the final phase of the flower planting.
